PRIVACY POLICY
Your game space,
kept personal.
This Policy explains how Questroom handles information when you use the app on iPhone or iPad.
1. Overview
Questroom is a personal game-library and focus-timer app. It lets you organize games, track game-related progress and focus time, customize your room, search a game catalog, and, when available, synchronize your game library through iCloud.
Questroom does not require an account with the Developer. We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, cross-app or cross-site tracking, data brokers, or marketing profiles. We do not sell your personal information.
This Policy covers information handled by Questroom and the Developer. Apple, Cloudflare, Twitch, and IGDB process information under their own terms and privacy policies when they provide the services described below.
2. Information in your game library
Questroom stores the information you create or select to make the app work. This may include game titles; game status, favorites, ordering, and creation date; focus targets and recorded play time; and game details you choose from the catalog, such as cover and artwork links, descriptions, ratings, release information, genres, companies, and time-to-beat estimates.
Room, display, and onboarding preferences may also be stored on your device. Questroom uses Apple on-device storage technologies, including SwiftData and UserDefaults. We do not operate a server that receives or gives us access to this on-device information.
3. iCloud synchronization
When iCloud is available and you are signed in to an Apple Account, Questroom uses Apple CloudKit to synchronize your game library across your devices. The synchronized library can include the game information described above, including titles, progress, favorites, ordering, and selected catalog metadata. Room and display preferences may remain only on the device on which they were chosen.
This information is stored in Questroom’s private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. We do not operate or have routine access to that private database. iCloud and CloudKit are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy and applicable Apple terms. Private CloudKit data may count toward your available iCloud storage.
You can manage iCloud in your device and Apple Account settings. If iCloud is unavailable, Questroom can continue to use on-device storage. Deleting a game in Questroom is intended to remove it locally and synchronize that deletion to connected devices when iCloud sync is available.
4. Game-catalog searches
When you search the catalog, the words you enter are sent over HTTPS to Questroom’s catalog endpoint, which is hosted using Cloudflare Workers. The endpoint uses the query only to return matching game information and temporarily caches successful search responses for up to 10 minutes. The endpoint does not require a Questroom account and is not designed to create a profile of you.
As with any internet request, the service providers that deliver the request may process standard technical information, such as an IP address, browser or device request data, and the time of the request, to provide security, reliability, and network services. Cloudflare’s handling of that information is governed by Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
The endpoint requests matching catalog data from IGDB, a Twitch service. Questroom may display returned titles, descriptions, ratings, release details, companies, genres, time estimates, cover art, and artwork. Cover and artwork images are loaded from IGDB’s image service. IGDB and Twitch handle these services under their own applicable policies and terms. Questroom does not send your game-library contents to IGDB; only the catalog search request is used to find matches.
5. Notifications
With your permission, Questroom can schedule a local notification when a focus session finishes. The notification is created and delivered by iOS on your device. It may include the title of the game associated with that session. Questroom does not use remote push notifications or send notification content to our servers.
You can decline or turn off notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Questroom Plus and purchases
Questroom may offer optional Questroom Plus subscriptions and a lifetime purchase. Purchases, payment processing, subscription management, and purchase restoration are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your payment-card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
Questroom uses StoreKit information necessary to determine whether an eligible Questroom Plus entitlement is active and to enable or restore the relevant features. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by its privacy policy and App Store terms.
8. Retention
On-device game-library information remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to iOS behavior. If you use iCloud sync, the library remains in your private iCloud database until it is deleted, subject to Apple’s retention, backup, security, and legal obligations.
Catalog search responses are cached by Questroom’s endpoint for no longer than 10 minutes. Service providers may retain technical logs or data under their own policies. If you email us, we retain your email address and the information you include only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide support, protect our rights, or meet legal obligations.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can delete individual games in Questroom, decline or disable notifications in iOS Settings, and manage iCloud through your Apple Account and device settings. Removing Questroom from a device may remove its local data according to iOS behavior; it does not necessarily remove data already synchronized to iCloud. To remove synchronized library data, delete your games in Questroom while iCloud sync is available.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal data handled by the Developer. To make a request, email us using the contact details below. Because your private CloudKit data is stored in your Apple Account, Apple may be best placed to assist with requests concerning that data. We may need to verify your request and may be unable to fulfill requests where an exception applies.
For the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, where applicable, we process support correspondence to respond to your request and pursue our legitimate interest in operating and securing Questroom; we process optional notifications based on your device-level permission. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable mandatory law.
10. Children’s privacy
Questroom is not directed to children and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through the Developer’s own services. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us by email, please contact us so that we can address the request.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to Questroom, our data practices, or applicable law. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where reasonably practicable.
